Gynaecology/ Obstetric OPD
Women coming to the gynaecology clinic are offered with regular antenatal checkups, gynaecological examinations, and obstetric procedures. Women are also counseled about safe motherhood practices. If necessary, women are referred for surgery at the hospital’s operational unit for gynaecological operations or caesarean sections. An average of 30 women visits the clinic every day. Healthcare staff offer women family planning information and counseling about contraception, pregnancy, and sexually transmitted diseases. They supply condoms, contraceptive pills and Depo-Provera injection, as well as medication for medical abortions.

Maternity Ward/ Birthing Center
The Nobel Maternity Ward provides mothers with attentive care and examination during child birth. This ward has a delivery room as well as several beds for women to rest before and after delivery. In case of a complicated pregnancy, women have immediate access to the operation theater for an emergency caesarian section. Babies born prematurely or in need of serious treatment can be admitted to the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit.

The operation theater consists of two separate theater spaces (one major and one minor), a pre-operative resting space, a post-operative ward, and a sterile supply department. Nepalhilfe Beilngries from Germany has been the major funding partner for this unit. With over 100 surgeries a year, this theater performs vital gyneacology and obstetrical operations for women with uterine prolapse, uterine and ovarian tumors and cysts, wanting an abortion, or in need of child delivery by caesarean section.
