Siddhi Memorial Health Service Center (SMHSC) was established in 1993 at Barahisthan, Bhaktapur and expanded into the Siddhi Memorial Hospital (for women and children) in 1997. With the moral and monetary assistance from its supporters, SMF has grown to a complex now consisting of four multi-story buildings in Bhimsensthan, ward no.7- Bhaktapur. Starting from 10 beds in inpatient services and gradually upgrading to the current 50 beds, the hospital now offers emergency, PICU/NICU, dental, inpatient and outpatient services to children as well as inpatient and outpatient, birthing center, family planning, gynecological operation theater services to women. Furthermore, diagnostic services such as laboratory, x-ray and ultrasound imaging are also available. The recently started PICU/NICU is giving intensive care for an increasing number of critically ill pediatric patients.

Since its establishment, the hospital has gained overwhelming popularity as a provider of much needed first aid facilities and primary care to women and children at an affordable cost. SMH is committed to offering quality, accessible health services, and continuously striving to improve its care to community members. The hospital caters its services towards women and children with lower socio-economic status, and provides essential medicine and treatment free of cost if the family is unable to pay. As a non-governmental, non-profit, charitable organization, it has won the confidence of its benefactors both from Nepal and internationally. The hospital currently employs more than 110 staff members, both in clinical and administrative positions. The hospital sees around 100 children and women in the out-patient department and 30 children in the pediatric emergency department per day.
