The department provides 24-hr inpatient services, emergency and care to newborn babies in our hospital. OPD services run on office hours from 9 am till all the registered patients are seen. Tickets for OPD is open from 9 am till 1 PM. Beyond this period of time, children are seen in ER or in EHS.

Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ObGyn) is committed to providing comprehensive, quality health care related to childbirth and female reproductive system. We have 24-hour on-duty Gynecologists/Obstetrician with SBA (Skilled Birth Attendant) trained nurses.

• Out-patient services

1. Outpatient Department (OPD)
   • Consultation by the Gynecologist and Obstetrician
   • Every day from 9 am to 1 pm except on Saturday and public holidays
   • Consultation for all kinds of gynecological and obstetric issues
2. Women Health clinic
   • Every Wednesday 9 am to 1 pm
   • This Women Health clinic focuses on providing gyne/obstetrician consultation dedicated to preventive management and early identification.
3. Extended Hospital Services (EHS)
   • EHS gyne/obs services provide gyne/obstetrician Consultation service beyond our regular OPD timings
   • Time- 8 am to 9 am and 2 pm to 5 pm
   • The main objective of this service is to cater full-day obstetrician & Gynecologist consultation to Non-emergency cases and prevent delay of consultation by making availability in extended hours
4. Family Planning and safe abortion
   • We have comprehensive Abortion Care services that include: Safe induced abortion as well as post-abortion care. We also provide Family Planning services which include counseling sessions and administration of oral contraceptive pills; Inj Depo; Cupper T insertion and removal; and Jadelle insertion and removal.
   • Time- 9 am to 1 pm every weekday except on public holidays
5. Emergency
   • We have 24-hour Emergency services with on-duty and on-call Gynecologists available 24 hours every day. Well-trained anesthesiologists and nurses are available round-the-clock for all kinds of emergency services.

  Obstetrics Care Services

We treat and provide obstetrics consultation pertinent to all health problems throughout the course of pregnancy, to ensure wellbeing of expecting mothers and safe delivery of their babies. We have trained Physiotherapists dedicated to providing quality antenatal and postnatal physiotherapeutic services. We use crosscutting technologies to perform medical procedures, tests and examinations. In addition to basic ultrasound services, we provide other important services such as transvaginal scan, congenital anomaly scan and fetal Doppler.

 We conduct vaginal deliveries, and every baby delivered in our department is received by an experienced Pediatrician.

We have full-fledged Level 3 NICU services. After the delivery of a baby, trained nurses provide consultation to new mother regarding breastfeeding and baby massage facilities.

We have Anesthesiologists who remain stand-by around the clock for emergency cases (such as cesarean section). Our Department is committed to providing quality yet affordable health care services.

 Gynecological Services

Disease management

• We have cervical cancer screening program where facilities such as LBC (liquid based cytology), colposcopy and cryotherapy are available to detect the cancer in its early stage and manage accordingly. We have successfully managed and operated on cases such as Ovarian Cystectomy, Myomectomy and abdominal Hysterectomy for fibroid uterus and Vaginal Hysterectomy for pelvic organ prolapse.
• Since 2020, we have started performing minimally invasive surgery (Laparoscopy) to manage various gynecological cases.

Infertility

• We also provide counseling and services pertinent to infertility; we do investigations involving Semen Analysis, HSG (Hysterosalphingogram) to check for tubal potency.

Facilities

• We have general ward available for Antenatal, Postpartum and Gynecological care as well as single and sharing cabins. We have fully equipped delivery room, two major Operation Rooms and one procedure room for minor cases. After operation, patients are transported to post-operative ward, which is fully equipped with trained personnel
• We provide treatment for a full range of gynecological conditions affecting female reproductive organs across different agessuch as painless deliveries, management of high risk pregnancies/late pregnancies, among others.  Pediatric Surgery was started at Siddhi Memorial Hospital in August 2014 as a referral center. The 1st surgery performed was for duodenal atresia with annular pancreas, a congenital malformation diagnosed during pregnancy and was referred by an Obstetrician. The operation was done by Senior Consultant Pediatric Surgeon, Dr. Manoj Krishna Shrestha.  He is the pioneer surgeon for single stage transanalendorectal pull through surgery in neonates and infants for Hirschsprun’s disease in Nepal. In the past one and half decades, he has performed many complicated congenital anomaly surgeries in neonates successfully. He is regularly performing laparoscopic surgery for acute appendicitis, gallstone diseases, intussusceptions, infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis, intra-abdominal cysts, Meckel’s diverticulum, impalpable undescended testis, removal of nonfunctioning kidney, Hydronephrosis due to Pelviureteric Junction Obstruction (PUJO). 

  Till now, more than 700 cases of major and minor surgeries have been carried out including Pediatric Laparoscopic Surgery at Siddhi Memorial Hospital.

• Esophageal atresia with tracheoesophageal fistula
• Intestinal atresias (Duodenal atresia, jejunoileal atresia, colonic atresia)
• Anorectal malformations
• Hirschspring’s disease
