Community Children Learning Center (EHV)

The foundation organizes every Saturday morning classes through the Community Children Learning Center based on Education in Human Values (EHV) for over 50 children to supplement their formal school curriculum. The aim is to provide a supportive and amusing environment for these children thereby helping them develop their good character and social behavior.

School Education Support

Foundation providing school fee and stationary materials support for children for poor family backround. Presently 20 children are sponsering at four different schools at Bhaktapur. This program is supported by Sairam Foundation, Holland .

Higher Education Support

Foundation providing medical and non medical higher education support for SMF employee and youth from poor financial background. After them education they will come back work at hospital  and old age home of SMF projects for certain year. More than 40 youth received higher education till date.

Meg Higher Education Support Program 

Partnership with Meg Children Trust , Australia Siddhi Memorial Foundation implementing “Meg Higher Education Support Program” . Presently three youth are receiving scholarship for higher education .

Bhaktapur is renowned for its rich artistic and cultural history. SMF tries to preserve such diversity through sponsoring cultural shows, promoting cultural activities and encouraging artists to develop their skills.

Ongoing Research Projects in collaborations with:
1. Collaborator: TMGH, Nagasaki University (Dr. Bhim)
Research title: 
Determination of the prevalence of non-vaccine serotypes of pneumonococcus and co-colonization of pneumococcus with respiratory viruses in infants after PCV10 introduction in Bhaktapur, Nepal”
Status: DNA extraction of the samples completed and awaiting for shipping the samples to Japan for qPCR
2. Collaborator: Prof. Christopher M Parry, University of Liverpool, UK
Research title:
Characterization of antimicrobial resistance in bloodstream infection-associated pathogens in pediatric population in Bhaktapur, Nepal
Status: Manuscript writing ongoing
3. Collaborator: Siddhi Memorial Foundation funded research 
Research title:
Molecular characterization of Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates originating from pediatric intensive care units to investigate overlap of multidrug resistance and virulence
Status: Data analysis completed

Research Title: Effectiveness of point-of-care lung ultrasound versus chest X-ray for the management of childhood lower respiratory infections in low-resource setting: a single center, pragmatic, open-label, randomized, controlled, non-inferiority clinical trial (ELUS study)
Status : Awaiting NHRC Approval

SMF holds outreach Health camps regularly in areas around Bhaktapur. Health camps provide free medical check-ups and medication to needy people in the community . Those patients who need specialized services are referred to the SMH. The patients who can not afford hospital costs will received subsidized treatment on case-by-case need.

SMF collaborates with various sports associations in Bhaktapur and help in the implementation of their athletic activities . The goal is to promote youth involvement in physical exercise to encourage a healthy lifestyle among children.
