Togetherness Between Madat Nepal & SMF

Togetherness Between Madat Nepal & SMF

The Dutch Madat Nepal Foundation congratulates Siddhi Memorial Hospital with its 25th anniversary, especially the founders Shyam Dhaubadel and his wife. We admire them for their initiative by turning their personal grief into a successful story by being helpful for so many poor people in Bhaktapur. We also admire the perseverance of Shyam and his staff, in addressing lack of money, earthquake and floods. Because of all this and his friendly character, he made many friends and people all over the world now help to support the hospital.
From the beginning in the early nineties we knew Shyam and decided to help. from the first small health post until the present well-equipped hospital, visiting SMH was often part of the Nepal-travels Madat Nepal organised for private persons and for volunteers of the Fair Trade World Shops in the Netherlands. After their journey to Nepal many of them became a friend and well-wisher of SMH. Some of them helped by financing the education of more than a dozen nurses and a few medical students. We are very proud that these students now are nurses or doctors, have jobs and take part in the healthcare of their countrymen. Although we stopped our group travels to Nepal some years ago, we continued our relation with SMH and stimulate Dutch people to become friends and well-wishers of this wonderful project in Bhaktapur. We wish SMH all the best for the next 25 years and hope we can continue our support over the next years.
